WORD of the Day
PALATABLE:
The soup was too bland for my taste, so I added my favorite spices to make it more palatable.
Those who are afraid of flying often travel by locomotive as their palatable alternative.
PALATABLE comes from palate, a word for the roof of the mouth, which itself comes from the Latin word palatum.

Stay In Your LANE along with its affiliates would like to extend our condolences to the family, friends, & loved ones of Sierra Jenkins; a 2019 graduate of Georgia State University.

The Georgia State University family was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of one of our brightest stars, Sierra Jenkins. A reporter with the Virginian-Pilot newspaper in Norfolk, Va., and a former CNN news assistant, Sierra, 25, graduated in December 2019 alongside her mother, Moniquekia Thompson. Sierra was a valued member of the Panther family, and our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones during this extremely difficult time.

On this date, March 15, in the year 1999; Maurice Ashley, a Jamaican immigrant, became the first Black chess player to earn the highest designated ranking made by the World Chess Federation, of International Grand Master.
This designation is only handed out to a limited number of players worldwide based on their aptitude. Once this title is given, it is held for life.

Jean Baptiste Point du Sable
It is believed that on this date, March 13, 1773, Jean Baptiste Point du Sable established the area that is now known as Chicago, Illinois.
Jean Baptiste Point du Sable was a free, landowning, wealthy trader of color, who was born around or before the year 1750 in Haiti. He later moved to St. Charles, Missouri where he remained until he died on August 28,1818.
